Katrina

Katrina Turner fell in love with singing and acting in public at the age of five when she played Mary in her infant school nativity play.   No one’s been able to prevent her from taking centre stage on every possible occasion ever since.   Her teenage years were divided between ‘serious’ drama with various young people’s companies, local amateur operatic productions such as The Sound of Music and The Wind in the Willows and choral singing with a major Junior Choir with whom she appeared on TV in the Sainsbury’s Choir of the Year competition.

During her time at uni studying for a degree in English and Drama she began to join Mum on stage for the occasional song and this gradually developed into a full duo repertoire that was very well-received.   This was just taking off on the folk scene when Rebecca decided to join the family firm and the focus of the music changed from two part to three part harmonies.   Katrina also sings as a soloist and was joint winner (with Jim Moray) of the first traditional singing competition held at Warwick Festival in memory of the late Fred Jordan.
